Winning Souvenirs From Your Road Trip PDF Print E-mail
Written by Road Warriors

I was going to keep this a secret until we were on the road but after reading one of the comments here (the only one) I thought maybe I should let you know a little early.

The question came up on why you should subscribe to get exclusive trip updates.

I know when I hit a Blog or website everyone seems to want my e-mail address to sell me something.  I almost never give out that information anymore or I use an account that goes straight into the trash.

I never understand why someone tries to get my e-mail for one reason and then sends me something I did not want or need. The problem is so bad that when I am on the road my Cell Phone is flooded with so much Spam I spend at least 30-60 minutes a day trying to delete it all.

We have had websites on the Internet for over 10 years. We have always been careful about the e-mail we send out.  One of the first questions we ask is:
Is this useful or can we just let you know the next time you come back to visit the site?

If it's not useful or timely we just don't send it out.  Rest assured if you get an e-mail from us it's either a Blog Post or information you want/need.  We NEVER give your information to ANYONE!!!  We have seen websites do that and it's one of the reasons we ALL get so much spam.  We treat e-mail addresses just like we treat our own credit card numbers.  Keep them under lock and key until you need them and then put them right back when your done.

Sorry for getting on the soapbox but I am really sick of junk e-mail and websites lying about what they will do with your information.

So what makes us so different?  Why should you send us your info after everything I just said?  Well if you want trip updates, special event notices, and some free stuff then it's a no-brainer.

1. You will only get updates on what's going on here plus special notifications about Live Broadcast Events, and Contests.  We keep pushing the envelope on fresh new content and delivering it to you in ways that have never been done before.

Just to give you an idea of how fast things change around here.  When we first started this site it was just a way for our family and friends to track us via GPS as we traveled across the country.  Now we have Live Streaming Trip Cameras, Remote Live Broadcasting, and by the end of March there will episodes on the Travel Channel.

The best thing is we are just getting started. As comments, questions, and polls come in we will be adding new stuff everyday.

2. You Get a Chance to Win Stuff.
When you go on a Road Trip there is always that one Souvenir that you just have to have.  There is no reason why you should not be able to get it as you Ride Shotgun with us.

We will be giving away souvenirs at random to anyone that has subscribed for trip updates.  We will also be giving them away  to anyone that posts a comment so make sure we can contact you if you do post.

Some might call it bribery.  I just call it encouraging discussion and participation.

So get the updates and get some free stuff in the process.

Make sure you use an e-mail that you check daily.  We will need to ask you some questions so we can get you something that is special for you. We want to make sure that this is not a Souvenir that will end up in the garage gathering dust.

Bill W. is the person that posted the comment that started me on this whole topic. He is our first lucky winner of a Road Trip Souvenir.  I would tell you what he is getting but I want to let him do that after he gets it.

Sorry about the link but I also need to verify something for Technorati.

Why We Created Road Warriors Live PDF Print E-mail

I know the question that might be on your mind is, "Why in the world would you do this?"

It's actually pretty simple. After we bought our RV and started to travel we kept getting calls from our family and friends asking where we were and where were we are going next.  The person who called the most was my Dad.  He had always wanted to get a RV and travel the country.  He was really happy when we got ours and you could tell he wanted to go along.

His health wasn't that good so we really had to plan out when he would be able to join us.

We planned a trip for this summer but in the mean time I hooked up a GPS so he could see where we were on Google maps.  After a couple trips I found out a way to hook up a camera so he could actually see out the front window as we were driving  down the road.  That was going to be a surprise for him this spring.

When word got out, everyone we knew wanted to see the mountains on a trip we took out to Colorado.  It was really tough to keep my Dad from finding out and ruining the surprise but we pulled it off!

The sad part is that my Dad passed away the day before Christmas Eve this past December and he never got to see the camera or us driving down the road.

It really got me thinking about how many other people want to see the country but don't have the time, money, or health.  Life gets busy and no matter what they "plan" to do in the future it never ends up happening.

My dad liked to meet new people and loved to travel but worked so much he never really got a chance to do it.

We consider ourselves pretty lucky because what we do for a living makes all of this possible.

We wanted to share this with as many people as we could. We opened the site up for everyone that wishes they could travel more or maybe have seen some of the places we will be going. If you have any tips on what to see or know any intresting people that we should meet and maybe interview please let us know.

It does not matter if they are famous or just your average Joe/Jane.  If they have a story to tell we would love to talk to them.

We will do our best to share it with everyone here.

What else can you do to help?

That's really simple too!
Share the site with anyone you think would be intrested.  The more people we have on a "Road Trip" more fun it will be..

Hello Fellow Dreamer

My name is Steve. I invite you to take a ride with me, my wife Jen, and our two kids, as we travel in our RV across the USA with no watches, a full wallet, and a full tank of gas! You''ll get to watch us LIVE throughout our entire adventure, and you''ll even be able to talk to us in REAL TIME via chat, and through our blog.

This year we are going on an adventure and we invite you to come along and ride shotgun. The best part (depending upon how you look at it) is that you won''t even need to leave home.

I will be driving with my wife, 2 kids, 2 dogs, and our cat (hope you are not allergic). I do all the heavy work and you get to enjoy the scenery and conversation. Heck, I think you even have a better seat for the trip since you''ll have the added benefit of just closing your browser if things get too crazy. We''ll be using cutting-edge technology that lets us stream the whole trip LIVE to you as we drive down the road. That''s right! You''ll be watching in REAL TIME ...

Live streaming video while we travel across the United States.

Some of our trips this summer include Route 66, Smoky Mountains, Philly, Grand Canyon, and the Redwoods. We''ll try to squeeze in a trip to Canada too. Even the Travel Channel has expressed interest in airing videos from the trip

Take a ride with our family, in an RV, and experience America through the looking glass of real time life stories from ordinary people like you and me. The countryside has never been more beautiful! Come along with as we meet the people who have enriched it, and listen in to hear them telling their everyday stories of how they live, play, and interact with each other.

Share the experience as we discover how the people of America come together and empower one another as individuals, enriching each other through our daily lives. Meet people of encouragement. See both the heroes of humanity and the ordinary that make the journey of living so powerful and worthwhile

We''ll start with a 30 minute live broadcast to introduce you to the REAL people and places that make this country great. Then, each week, you''ll watch a new episode LIVE. During the broadcasts, you''ll even be able to chat with us, ask us questions, and send in questions you have for our guests.

You never know what we''ll come up with on each show! I''ve always wondered what the largest ball of aluminum foil looked like and what the guy who made it was thinking. This summer you will be able to find out!

Fill out the box above and click Ride Shotgun. We will let you know exact dates and times so you can get ready for the trip.

By the way I am paying for the gas so you can put away the credit card. There is nothing for you to buy to join us for this "journey of a lifetime"!

Buckle up! It''s going to be a fun ride!
